Remix Hotel Los Angeles 2008 Panelists and Special Guests
2008/11/19
Remix Hotel is heading to Los Angeles for its annual three-day forum of music-production technology, industry panels and artist appearances. Welcoming Avid as Presenting Partner, Remix Hotel Los Angeles 2008 adds a new programming component—video production—to its successful format of audio-related demos, exhibits and performances.
Remix Hotel provides everyone from budding producers to accomplished studiophiles with the opportunity to discover new tools and ideas to take their productions to the next level. Complementing the technology exhibition, Remix Hotel Los Angeles features its signature panel series, presented by Avid, on current issues affecting the audio and entertainment industries.
The Remix Hotel Los Angeles panel lineup features a cross-section of influential artists and industry tastemakers, including Grammy Award-winning producer and Timbaland protege Danja, who will appear for a special Q&A to discuss his production techniques. In addition, Thes One, The Angel, Martin Atkins, Guns N Bombs, Daddy Kev, Rick Ross, Carmen Rizzo and Jason Bentley will sit on panels discussing everything from touring, building a successful production company and making a living as a producer or engineer.
The participation of Avid—an industry leader in nonlinear video editing products, such as Media Composer, and owner of audio companies Digidesign, M-Audio and Sibelius—is highly anticipated, bringing both a cutting-edge track record and highly influential presence in the film, television and commercial production community. Avid's Remix Hotel Los Angeles program will highlight various aspects of film and television production. Tim Good, editor of the CW's Gossip Girl, will talk about the creative and technical aspects of music supervision and how music is driving some of today's hottest shows. Acclaimed filmmaker Ondi Timoner will discuss the development of a film from concept to critical and award-winning success. In addition, Brendon Small, creator of Adult Swim's Metalocalypse, will discuss the innovative production behind the popular animated series.
Avid properties Digidesign and M-Audio will also figure prominently in Remix Hotel's daily programming. Grammy-winning producer and Nine Inch Nails alumnus Chris Vrenna will demonstrate how he creates music entirely inside of Pro Tools 8, the lastest version of Digidesign's ubiquitous audio-production platform. Producer/DJ TAKE will demonstrate the next generation of M-Audio's digital DJ solution, Torq.
Additionally, Technology Partners Pioneer, Rane, Roland, Serato, Stanton, KRK Systems will also be on hand to show off their latest gear and offer product demos and user tips. And Remix Hotel's exclusive master classes— presented by Roland, Cakewalk, Propellerhead, Ableton, IK Multimedia and Native Instruments— will go in-depth into some of the industry's most powerful tools, giving attendees an opportunity to experience the latest audio technology in a real-world environment.
Remix Hotel Los Angeles offers two registration packages.
